PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Join us for a 2-hour virtual Small Animal Mini Bootcamp – Meeting Nutritional Needs of Oncology Patients on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, supported by The Farmer's Dog.

Registration: Be among the first 500 participants to register and attend for free! After that, registration is $25 for the next 500 participants.

Designed for veterinary professionals, this program combines scientific foundations with practical clinical tools to support nutritional care in dogs and cats with cancer.

Participants will learn:

• How cancer affects nutritional status, including cachexia and sarcopenia
• How to assess patients using body condition score, muscle condition score, and dietary history
• How to interpret current evidence on nutritional recommendations and supplements in oncology
• How to distinguish evidence-based guidance from emerging or anecdotal approaches

Practical focus includes:

• Developing individualized nutrition plans for oncology patients
• Selecting appropriate diets and supplements
• Monitoring patient response over time
• Adjusting feeding strategies throughout treatment

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with UC Davis experts during interactive Q&A discussions, gaining practical insights that can be immediately applied in clinical practice. A dedicated Q&A session with a representative from The Farmer's Dog will also be available for questions related to their products and nutritional approach.

By the end of the bootcamp, participants will be better equipped to:

• Support optimal nutritional status in cancer patients
• Preserve lean body mass
• Improve quality of life in dogs and cats undergoing cancer treatment

SPEAKERS

• Rachel V. Brady DVM, PhD, DACVIM (Oncology)
• 

  Dr. Rachel Brady is a board-certified medical oncologist and has a PhD in cancer biology. Her research focuses on the interactions of the immune system with cancer, and she has a special interest in improving nutritional support for her patients.
  
   
   

• Jennifer A. Larsen DVM, MS, PhD, DACVIM (Nutrition)
• 

  Dr. Jennifer Larsen is a board-certified veterinary nutritionist and has a PhD in Nutritional Biology. She is the Chief of Service for the Nutrition Support service in the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, which provides clinical nutritional consulting. She is also the Scientific Director of the Amino Acid Laboratory, which offers nutritional testing for research studies and for clinical patients around the world. She mentors residents and students and teaches in the veterinary curriculum as well as for the Graduate Group of Nutritional Biology.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

• Webinar Attendance and CE

• The virtual symposium will be live and interactive in Pacific Time and will count for full CE credit. The symposium will be hosted through Zoom. 

  Webinar attendance is automatically recorded through Zoom when you join a session. Please do not join by phone or dial in, as attendance cannot be tracked by phone number. To receive CE credit, you must participate through Zoom using a computer or mobile device.

  Participants are responsible for confirming whether individual programs are accepted for CE credit by their state licensing board.

  Before the event, please ensure your web browser is up to date and that Zoom has permission to access your device’s speakers and microphone. If you have never attended a Zoom conference before, we recommend testing your computer or mobile device in advance.

  CE certificates will be emailed to participants approximately two weeks after the conference.

• Cancellation Policy
• A refund will be issued, minus a $5.00 processing fee, if the cancellation request is received at least two weeks before the program start date. Registration is non-refundable within two weeks of the program start date and after the program has begun, including for no-shows. This means that cancellations made on or after the start date are not eligible for a refund. All requests must be submitted in writing. Submit cancellation requests via email to [email protected].
• Virtual Meeting Technical Issues Policy

• We understand that technical issues can sometimes arise, and we are committed to providing the best experience possible for all our attendees. In the result of technical issues, efunds will be considered if you are unable to log in to the webinar under the following circumstance:

  Platform Downtime: If the platform encounters significant downtime preventing access to the event for a prolonged period, as determined by our technical support team.
  
  Non-Refundable Circumstances:

  Refunds will not be issued under the following conditions:

  User Error: If the issue is due to incorrect login credentials, browser compatibility problems, device issues on the attendee's end, or if an attendee forgets about the conference or has a scheduling conflict.

  Incorrect Conference Date/Time: If you missed the conference due to forgetting the date or having the wrong time.
   
  Refund Processing

  Once your refund request is verified and approved, either a full or partial refund of your registration fee will be processed. After that time, please allow up to 5 business days for the refund to be completed, depending on your original payment method.
  
  Limitation of Liability

  While we take all necessary steps to ensure the webinar runs smoothly, we cannot be held responsible for external factors that may prevent your access, including internet connectivity issues, browser or device incompatibility, or other personal technical difficulties.
