Join a two-day Veterinary Oral Medicine Symposium held at the Vet Med Multi-Purpose Building on the UC Davis Weill School of Veterinary Medicine campus, showcasing the latest advances in oral inflammatory disease, mucosal immunology, and regenerative science. This program offers a valuable opportunity to learn directly from leading experts, stay current with rapidly evolving therapies, and gain practical tools you can apply immediately in practice.
Day 1 (In-person & Virtual): Expert-led sessions covering the oral microbiome, chronic stomatitis in dogs and cats, TMJ arthritis, systemic oral health, and emerging regenerative therapies including stem cells and extracellular vesicles.
Day 2 (In-person Only): An immersive clinical-pathologic workshop focused on oral and maxillofacial histomorphology with case-based diagnostic correlation.
This symposium is designed for veterinarians, combining cutting-edge science with real-world application to help refine diagnostic approaches, expand treatment options, and improve patient outcomes.
SPEAKERS
- Maria Soltero-Rivera DVM, DAVDC, DEVDC
Dr. Maria Soltero-Rivera is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American and European Veterinary Dental Colleges and completed her residency at PennVet. Her clinical and research focus is oral medicine, with interests in feline gingivostomatitis and other oral mucosal diseases.
Her lab uses next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, and AI to study the oral microbiome and host responses, with the goal of advancing diagnostics and precision treatments in veterinary dentistry.
- Boaz Arzi DVM, DAVDC, DEVDC, ZWD-AVDC, FF-AVDC-OMFS
Dr. Boaz Arzi is a Professor and Chief of Dentistry and Oral surgery at the Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Arzi completed the residency-training program in Dentistry and Oral surgery at the School of Veterinary Medicine, UC Davis and two years fellowship in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis. He is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) and the European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC). Dr. Arzi is also a Founding Fellow of the AVDC in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Arzi’s clinical and research focus is on oral maxillofacial reconstruction and regenerative solutions in dogs and cats. His lab also focus TMJ disorders and treatments across species and he is an affiliate member of the American Society of TMJ Surgeons. Dr. Arzi is the Director of the Veterinary Institute for Regenerative Cures (VIRC) at UC Davis. Ultimately, Dr. Arzi’s work is translational with the aim of One Health treatment modalities for both human and animal health.
- Stephanie Goldschmidt BVM&S, DAVDC, F-AVDC-OMFS
Dr. Stephanie Goldschmidt is an assistant tenure track professor in Dentistry and Oral surgery at the University of California- Davis. She completed her residency at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where she also completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Science. She received her veterinary degree from the Royal School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and then went on to complete a rotating internship at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island. Following residency training she spent five years as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Minnesota. She is currently undergoing fellowship training in both oral medicine and oromaxillofacial surgery. Her subspecialty clinical and research area is oral oncology, specifically she is focused on improving treatment paradigms with the use of theragnostic agents. Her current projects include using flourescence imaging to evaluate intraoperative surgical margins and evaluating EGFR expression in canine oral tumors.

- Virtual Symposium Information
- The virtual symposium will be live (Pacific Standard Time) and interactive; it will count for full CE credit. We will use Zoom to host the virtual symposium. If you have never attended a Zoom conference before, test your computer or mobile device here.
You can watch the virtual symposium on your computer. Ensure your web browser is up to date and that you enable your computer to allow Zoom to have access to your speakers/mic for sound. - Service Animals

Conference Cancellation and Refund Policy:

- A refund will be made, less a $75.00 processing fee, if the cancellation request is received one week before the program start date, otherwise, the payment will be non-refundable. Registration is non-refundable after the program start date, including for No Shows. This means that cancellations made before the program begins on the start date are also non-refundable. All requests must be submitted in writing. Submit cancellation requests via email to [email protected].
- Virtual Symposium Attendance:
- A refund will be made, less a $15.00 processing fee, if the cancellation request is received two weeks before the program start date, otherwise, a refund will be made, less a $25.00 processing fee. Registration is non-refundable after the program start date, including for No Shows. This means that cancellations made before the program begins on the start date are also non-refundable. All requests must be submitted in writing. Submit cancellation requests via email to [email protected].

Eligibility for Refunds
Refunds will be considered if you are unable to log in to the virtual conference under the following circumstances:
Login Issues: If you are unable to log in despite following the provided instructions and troubleshooting steps.
Platform Downtime: If the platform encounters significant downtime preventing access to the event for a prolonged period, as determined by our technical support team.
Refund Request Process
If you are unable to log in to the conference, please follow these steps to request a refund:
1. Contact the CVPE Team: Reach out to us at [email protected] immediately upon experiencing issues. Provide a detailed description of the problem, the troubleshooting steps you have taken, and your phone number. To be eligible for a refund, you must include evidence of your communication with the CVPE team and any proof of your inability to log in (e.g., a screenshot of login error messages). All requests must be submitted in writing.
2. Timeframe for Requests: Refund requests must be submitted within the first 4 hours of the event’s scheduled timeframe, on the same day as the conference. Requests submitted after this period will not be eligible for a refund.
3. Verification: Our CVPE team will review the issue. If it is determined that the login failure was due to a platform error or system-wide issue, you will be eligible for a refund.
4. Partial Attendance: If you were able to attend part of the event but encountered issues accessing a portion of the meeting, we will evaluate each case individually. Partial refunds may be considered in certain situations.
Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will not be issued under the following conditions:
User Error: If the issue is due to incorrect login credentials, browser compatibility problems, device issues on the attendee's end, or if an attendee forgets about the conference or has a scheduling conflict.
Incorrect Conference Date/Time: If you missed the conference due to forgetting the date or having the wrong time.
- Refund Processing
- Once your refund request is verified and approved, either a full or partial refund of your registration fee will be processed. After that time, please allow up to 5 business days for the refund to be completed, depending on your original payment method.
- Limitation of Liability
- While we take all necessary steps to ensure the virtual conference runs smoothly, we cannot be held responsible for external factors that may prevent your access, including internet connectivity issues, browser or device incompatibility, or other personal technical difficulties.
