One Hour Vet Education Talk: Updates On How To Manage The Diabetic Ketoacidotic (DKA) Patient 

with Dr. Jamie Burkitt

Receive 1 hour of Continuing Education Credit when you sign up and attend this 50- minute lecture!  Dr. Burkitt will provide relevant insights on how to approach the DKA patient.  Her lecture will include discussions on fluid therapy, insulin choices and regimens, and various approaches for managing the acidosis.  This will be an interactive lecture so be sure to come with questions. This lecture is appropriate for the generalist as well as the veterinary specialist.

Dr. Jamie Burkitt is an Assistant Professor of clinical small animal emergency and critical care at The University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2005 and has worked since that time not only at the University, but also in busy private practices across the country. Dr. Burkitt’s primary research and teaching interests are feline urethral obstruction, endocrine disease in the emergency room and ICU, and clinical study design.
