Join us at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine for this 2 day Respiratory Endoscopy Training Course from November 17 - 18, 2023. During these 11.5 hours of CE, we will host both interactive lectures, case-based discussions, and 5 hours of hands-on respiratory endoscopy laboratory training.

Day 1

  • Dinner Social

  • Overview of scope anatomy

Day 2

  • Introduction to rhinoscopy and bronchoscopy
  • Hands on rhinoscopy and bronchoscopy training utilizing cadavers

No live animals will be used during this course.

RVTs and Veterinary Assistants can register and attend independently. The labs will be instructed in a group setting. Veterinarians can also register their RVT or Veterinary Assistant to come with them for a discounted price during checkout. They can attend lectures and individual “technicians-only” breakout training sessions where they'll learn from some of the best endoscopy technicians when it comes to endoscopic cleaning and handling, instrumentation, and biopsy management. They will be able to assist during selected laboratory exercises.  Technicians will learn the team approach to performing Respiratory Endoscopy and their role in endoscopy.

  • Lynelle Johnson DVM, MS, PhD, DACVIM
  • Lynelle Johnson

    Dr. Lynelle Johnson received her veterinary degree from The Ohio State University, was in private practice in New York, and completed a Master’s Degree and residency program at the University of Illinois. She received her Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Missouri.

    Dr. Johnson’s research is focused on validation of diagnostic tests for respiratory diseases as well as identifying novel respiratory conditions. She runs a busy respiratory service and routinely performs endoscopic and interventional procedures. Dr. Johnson has published multiple articles and book chapters on respiratory topics and a second edition of her textbook, Canine and Feline Respiratory Medicine.

  • Sean Hulsebosch DVM, DACVIM
  • Sean Hulsebosch

    Dr. Sean Hulsebosch received his DVM from Michigan State University. Following graduation, he completed a rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and then worked in private general and emergency practice for 10 years in New Jersey. Dr. Hulsebosch then completed a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of California, Davis. He is currently an assistant clinical professor of small animal internal medicine at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Hulsebosch’s interests include endocrinology, immune-mediated disease, and endoscopy of the urinary, respiratory, and gastrointestinal tracts.

  • Dennis Woerde

    Dennis Woerde is the current Urology/Nephrology and Extracorporeal Therapy fellow at UC Davis. He obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Sydney, Australia. After several years in general practice he undertook a residency in small animal internal medicine at UC Davis. Dennis is board certified in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. His clinical and research interests include all aspects of renal and urinary medicine.



     

  • Melissa Bartholomew MS, RVT
  • Melissa Bartholomew

    Melissa Bartholomew is the Program Manager for the Center for Continuing Professional Education at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Her primary role is to develop, manage and oversee educational programs. Melissa is also the central point of contact and can guide programmatic, research, and philanthropic collaborations. Prior to this role, she has been in the Veterinary Medical profession for over 20 years and most recently was the Manager of Small Animal Internal Medicine and Community Practice Services at the UC Davis William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Melissa is a Registered Veterinary Technician and holds a MS in Education Technology from DeVry University, as well as a BS in Animal Science from UC Davis.

  • Sue Cox

    Susan graduated from Cosumnes River Community College in 1982 and passed the RVT exam that same year. She worked as the only Technician for a board-certified Surgeon for 15 years in the Bay Area before joining the staff at the UC Davis VMTH in the Small Animal Medicine Service. Sue recently retired after 25 years of assisting residents, students and faculty with clinical appointments and procedures. She has lectured at VMX (formerly NAVC), ACVIM forum, and the AVMA Convention on endoscopy-related topics. She is a Charter Member of the Academy of Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians. She is also the author of Endoscopy for the Veterinary Technician.

    You must sign-in at the registration table when you arrive at the venue each day.
    Participants are responsible for determining if specific programs are accepted for CE credit by their State Licensing Board. 
    You will receive your CE certificate on-site at the event.
A refund will be made, less a $100.00 processing fee, if the cancellation request is received two weeks before the program start date, otherwise, a refund will be made, less a $150.00 processing fee. Registration is non-refundable after the program start date. All requests must be made in writing. Submit cancellation request via email to svmcontinuinged@ucdavis.edu.
