Explore the latest advances in the management of canine diabetes mellitus during this interactive 2-hour webinar. Combining an evidence-based review of current treatment recommendations with real-world clinical case discussions, this webinar is designed to help veterinary professionals confidently diagnose, monitor, and manage diabetic dogs in practice.
In the first lecture, participants will review:
- Current approaches to insulin selection and dose adjustment
- The role of nutrition and concurrent diseases in achieving optimal glycemic control
- The growing use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and how to interpret CGM data.
The second lecture brings these concepts into practice through interactive, case-based discussions. Using real clinical cases, participants will explore practical strategies for managing diabetic dogs with long-acting basal insulin analogs, including:
- When to adjust insulin doses
- Transition from once-daily to twice-daily administration
- Consider basal-bolus therapy, and use CGM data to guide treatment decisions.
Throughout the webinar, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with UC Davis experts during interactive Q&A sessions, gaining practical insights that can be immediately applied in clinical practice. A dedicated Q&A session with a representative from Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health will also be available to answer questions related to their products and nutritional approach.
Whether you're looking to refine your approach to diabetic patients or stay current with evolving treatment and monitoring strategies, this webinar will provide practical, evidence-based guidance to help improve outcomes for canine diabetic patients.
