On-Demand Continuing Education Course - Updates on the Interventional Management of Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunts

This course is designed for Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants. This course will provide an in-depth overview of intrahepatic portosystemic shunts (IHPSS), focusing on key anatomical considerations critical to diagnosis and surgical planning. Participants will gain an understanding of current management strategies, including both medical and surgical approaches, and explore the latest evidence on outcomes associated with IHPSS treatment. The course aims to enhance clinical decision-making and improve patient care for dogs and cats with this complex vascular anomaly.

Upon completion, participants will receive a CE certificate indicating they have earned 1 hour of on-demand self-study credit.

William Culp

William T. N. Culp, VMD, DACVS
Dr. William Culp earned his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also completed a rotating internship and surgical residency. He is a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Dr. Culp pursued advanced training with a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Colorado State University and an Interventional Radiology/Endoscopy Fellowship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. He has been recognized as a Founding Fellow of Surgical Oncology (2012), Minimally Invasive Surgery (2017), and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (2021) by the ACVS. Dr. Culp is currently part of the Soft Tissue Surgery service at the University of California, Davis, with primary interests in surgical oncology and interventional radiology.

Cancellations made before accessing the CANVAS platform will receive a refund minus a $5 processing fee. Cancellations are non-refundable once you have accessed the course on the CANVAS platform.
