We hope you will join us in person, on-site at the UCD Veterinary Campus for our 2024 Fall Symposium.  For those of you who can’t join us in person, we do offer an interactive webinar option.

Erik Fausak

Do you ever have trouble finding the ideal resources to help manage your patients? Do you struggle to identify the best evidence to support or refute the latest treatments for medical and surgical problems? You will definitely want to attend the lecture by Erik Fausak MSLIS, MA, RVT, RLAT. Erik is a veterinary librarian and his primary area of involvement is veterinary medicine where he has a great deal of clinical experience as a veterinary technician. He has a passion for the incorporation of evidence-based practice into veterinary medicine. Space for Erik's lecture may be limited as this year's 35th Annual Charles Heumphreus Memorial Lecture will be concurrent with Fall 2024. Participants attending the Heumphreus equine track will also be able to attend Erik's lecture. For those attending in person, arrive early to grab a seat!

Tyler Jordan

Due to several requests, we have brought back our “Year in Review” track for Fall 2024.  Each speaker will discuss the clinical relevance of select manuscripts from the past year and how this impacts our daily practice. Let’s learn how the literature actually impacts what we do in our day to day care of dogs and cats! Featured topics this year include kidney disease, small animal nutrition, and behavior medicine.

Our featured faculty speaker this year is our new Assistant Professor in dermatology, Tyler Jordan DVM, PhD, DACVD.  Dr. Jordan’s clinical and research interests are focused on the mechanisms and management of allergic, autoimmune, and neoplastic skin diseases in companion animals, which are topics featured in our afternoon sessions. He is passionate about teaching, mentorship, and improving patient care, welfare, and outcomes.
