PROGRAM

The Center for Continuing Professional Education (CCPE) is proud to offer our third CE event of the CE series: "Meet the Specialist". Our discussion in this series will be Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease: Beyond Bordetella presented by Jonathan Dear, DVM, MAS, DACVIM (SAIM).

In this presentation we’ll discuss acute and chronic manifestations of canine cough focusing on infectious disease. We'll discuss the interplay between pathogens (viral, bacterial and mycoplasmal) as they relate to canine infectious respitatory disease (CIRD) and discuss the available vaccines for CIRD, their indications and limitations.

The Tailgate BBQ will follow after the lecture over by the UC Davis Health Stadium where dinner and drinks will be served.

SPEAKER

Jonathan Dear, DVM, MAS, DACVIM (SAIM) earned his DVM degree from the University of Georgia, Athens. He completed his MAS in clinical research and a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of California, Davis and is now a small animal internal medicine specialist at University of California, Davis. His clinical interests includes infectious, urinary and respiratory diseases of dogs and cats as a model of disease for humans.
