Program
We are pleased to host two expert ophthalmologists for this session - Bianca Martins, DVM, MS, PhD; DACVO, DCLOVE (Hon) and Dineli Bras, DVM, MS; DACVO. Both have vast experience in clinical practice as well as research related to the diagnosis and treatment of corneal diseases in cats and dogs.

- Bianca Martins, DVM, MS, PhD; DACVO, DCLOVE (Hon)
Dr. Bianca Martins received her DVM from São Paulo State University (Brazil) in 2002. She obtained her master's degree in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2005 and completed her PhD in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2008, at the same University. Dr. Martins completed a postdoctoral program at University of Florida in 2012, followed by a residency in Comparative Ophthalmology at University of Florida in 2015. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) in 2016, and is also an honorary Diplomate of the Latin American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (CLOVE). Dr. Martins was an Assistant Professor of Comparative Ophthalmology at University of Illinois from 2015-2019, and is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at UC Davis. Dr. Martins has authored several scientific articles and ophthalmology textbook chapters. She is a board member of the International Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology and editor of its newsletter, The Globe. She is a member of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists Residency and Public Relations Committees. Dr. Ines Dineli Bras graduated from Purdue University in 1995. In 2000, she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University. Dr. Bras completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center in 2001. From 2001 to 2004 she completed a residency in Comparative Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University in conjunction with her Master's of Science Degree focusing on the canine lens and posterior capsular opacification after cataract surgery. While at Ohio State, Dr. Bras was the recipient of the hospital service award for her dedication to patients and clients.
Dr. Bras is a Diplomate and board-certified member of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. She is currently a Board Regent of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. She has been recognized as an Emeritus member of the ACVO Vision for Animals Foundation after serving 4 years as president and 10 years as a board member. She is an international speaker, and has participated in seminars in the United States, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Romania, England, and Ireland. Dr. Bras is a member of the AVMA, and the CMVPR. Dr. Bras' special interests in ophthalmology include cataract and glaucoma surgery. Dr. Bras has developed the endolaser surgical approach and technique in canine and feline patients.
