Please join us for a one-hour moderated panel discussion with Dr. Jane Sykes, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. J Scott Weese, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, moderated by Dr. Jonathan Dear, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
JANE SYKES, BVSc (Hons), PhD, DACVIM: As Chief Veterinary Medical Officer, Dr. Sykes oversees all clinical and support services of the William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, one of the largest and most comprehensive veterinary medical centers in the world. A UC Davis faculty member since 2002, she previously served as Director of the hospital’s Small Animal Clinic, Chief of the hospital’s Small Animal Internal Medicine Service, and Biosecurity Officer of the hospital’s Small Animal Clinic. She has special expertise in infectious diseases of dogs and cats. Dr. Sykes received her veterinary degree and a PhD in veterinary microbiology from the University of Melbourne (Melbourne, Australia). She completed her residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Minnesota and served as a clinical faculty member there before coming to UC Davis.
J SCOTT WEESE, DVM, DVSc, DACVIM: Dr. Weese is a veterinary internist and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He is a Professor at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Director of the University of Guelph Centre for Public Health and Zoonoses, and Chief of Infection Control at the Ontario Veterinary College Teaching Hospital.
JONATHAN DEAR, DVM, M.A.S., DACVIM: Dr. Jonathan Dear is an assistant professor of clinical small animal medicine at UC Davis. Dr. Dear attended the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a one-year rotating internship at the VCA Emergency Animal Hospital and Referral Center in San Diego, California. After finishing a residency in small animal internal medicine at the William R Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, Dr. Dear joined the faculty at UC Davis. Recently, Dr. Dear completed a master's degree in clinical research at the UC Davis Medical Center. Dr. Dear's clinical and research include infectious disease, lower urinary and respiratory diseases of small animal patients.
